Weed Culture: The Real Origins of 420

What is the Truth About the Origins of 420

Since the term 420 became popular in the 1990's, I had never heard of such a code. Hightimes use to go all out with 420 articles and celebrations from around the globe.

Today there is much debate about where the term derived. At the end of the day we will never really be sure. The Huffington Post suggest the term developed in Northern California from the rock band The Grateful Dead and a young clique know as the Five Waldos.

420 origin is all speculation. Yes it is an old term. But, most of us over 45 should remember that the "Dead" along with a group of high schoolers co-opted the term from the San Rafael police code, clandestine Neo Nazi resurgence in the early 70's, and the Helter Skelter Charlie Manson craze. Sorry to disappoint you all, but its all about using pot culture to honor Adolf Hitler on his birthday whether you knew it or not.

At this point in our evolution we must keep in mind that cryptic individuals, the mob(s), the government with public inertia have cleverly disguised so many cultural themes with other motifs just to keep the underground white collar alive. Is this not the American "underground" way? Hide true beliefs and values in other scenarios. After all it is about distracting you from any positive benefits to marijuana medical or otherwise.

In closing as I light this blunt, I'm just glad we honor weed. Rather than layoff city workers and needed teachers, lets tax pot clinics. Let's challenge the Obama's administration support for Mexican and Latin American drug kingpins over viable medical options, cash crops and sources of industrial revenue.  Let's realize that since George Washington, marijuana, which is hemp has been apart of American history. It is the lead underground economy. And, another one of God's plants. Next time you stop and smell the roses, put five on it and change America to a prosperous  "Sea Green".
