VEGAS AUTO SHOP
I vowed that in 2012 I would get out of the house and travel. My second stop was Las Vegas, Nevada. I know what that means to most people, but this was a mini vacation and rejuvenation of my spirits. Not that Las Vegas is new to me.  It's the first time I ever went on my own, slept, did work, kicked it with people I just met, ate well, drank hearty, shopped, gave gambling lessons and made money.  Did that! The most difficult thing to do was decide to get away  by clicking on the computer screen "accept offer"! Then I forgot about the trip for a month. What I discovered was that Vegas was rebounding from the economic and social morale decline it was in 2010. With a focused mayor and new initiative, I saw a little big city mastering the art of survival and reinvention. The new mayor even announced support for a NFL team in the works. Construction had picked up.

Las Vegas
Last time I was there casinos were not running 24hrs, hotel staffing was low and building projects had been halted in their tracks. But in 2012, I saw all kinds of seemingly happy to be employed people pleasant to meet and assist visitors. Many new construction projects in business corridors. But still I witnessed a lot of out of business closed doors. All vibes still felt very positive a view to the future out look. Even the cab driver and I chopped it up about transitioning to Vegas to increase a hustler's game! He told me I had it and the right attitude. I told him just chauffeur me around next trip to the secret grown man hustler parlays. But wait it gets better. So I decide to walk from the strip to old downtown. I discovered an art district. Quaint but burgeoning with class and productions. Then I saw abandoned real estate every where that to me seemed like prime territory. Later own I would read about these home so distressed they go for 20,000 to 50,000 cash.
